Project Summary

The Community Conversations process and civic tools will enable high school students to graduate, celebrating their civic skills. Through this process youth and adults will experience the value and develop skills for civic conversations and they will see they share common hopes and concerns

About me

My years as a classroom teacher, Outward Bound instructor, program developer, and service-learning consultant have enabled me to- *work effectively with youth, teachers and community organizations by affirming their current efforts and their personal and organizational hopes. * build organizational support aand a broad base of funding so innovation is sustainable. *develop solid relationships with a local and national individuals and organizations that can help inform this process. As the mom of a 15-year old I am close to the pulse of what authentically engages youth and regularly talk with youth who have amazing gifts and quietly care but do not feel invited to the table. I also see that the invitation to the table is best received when it draws upon their skills and hopes for the community as well as civic issues.
