About meThe International District Housing Alliance (IDHA) began in 1975 as a grassroots community group that organized low-income residents of Seattle's International District (ID) neighborhood, focusing on housing and development issues such as home environment safety and public safety. Our community leadership program, Wilderness Inner-city Leadership Development focuses on environmental health and justice issues within our community. Established in 1997, youth and elders of the WILD program work together to address environmental health and justice issues in diverse, low-income communities by providing culturally and language appropriate education and organizing community building activities. Our various partners within the community for this project represent a broad spectrum of interests, including local businesses, city agencies, non-profit service providers and community development agencies, higher education and residents. |
