I’ve just joined the team as a research assistant, and I’m really excited. Pittsburgh is a great city – friendly and filled with history and culture – and rich with opportunities to reclaim industrial and forgotten spaces. I love the idea of offering the city’s youth the chance to design and build a place that everyone can use. This isn’t a ready-made project in need of warm bodies. These kids are going to experience something incredible; they will be part of a team that communicates and incorporates the needs of their communities, and then takes those ideas from rough sketches to fruition – a real, tangible, usable green space overlooking the rivers from the Hill.
