Project Summary

The Mission of the Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition is to link generations with opportunites for developing relationships, learning, community service and civic engagement. These innovative programs with a shared site 'green' facility will foster a healthier community.

About me

I am a certified Social Worker and also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. I specialized in gerontology in both graduate and undergraduate programs. I have worked for 29 years with both acute and long term care. I have served on the local City Committee on Aging, the County Aging Advisory Committee and State Long Term Care Committees. I also had children in Day Care as a working parent and served on the Parent's Advisory Board. I am passionate about care and opportunities for seniors and for us as we age. I also understand the Child Care business and their struggle to maintain quality programs. I am acutely aware of the lack of funding for programs like this. My dream is to bring this innovative vision to fruition through the non-profit, grass roots effort I have led. I am skilled at collaboration and facilitation and will continue to build community collaboration. I am good at communicating our vision sharing our passion. Using these approaches will help accomplish our goal. I also have a love of my community and a desire to prepare us for the 21st century of an aging society and diverse families with new needs. Key people helping are the Curriculum Coordinator of our School District, Senior Center Director, a senior alderman, child care center owner, banker, two philanthropy executives from health care systems, a local attorney, and consumer reps. We are all volunteers dedicated to this project and committed to collaboration.
