Project Summary
We implemented surveys at the local high school and conducted skill clinics, with the help of adult supervisors and the local authorities, it was apparent that alcohol was being sold to minors. We would like to therefore educate the community and store owners about policies regarding alcohol.
About me
I am 20 years old and attend the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. I major in chemistry and a leader of the UML Step Team as well as the Haitian Student Association. Alcohol has ruined too many lives and I would like to see a change with the availability of alcohol to youths. To get people together we would talk to city officials, the local authority, key head figures and our advisers, Linda Kelley, Gisela Rots, and Officer Dave Ciampi. Other members of the project include: Dang Pham is18 and a recent graduate of Medford High School and plans on attending the Benjamin Institute of Technology. Andrew Russell is 19 and a certified Massage Therapist. Richie Gelin is 15 and will be a sophomore at Medford High School and enjoys playing basketball. Sherine Thelemaque is 15 and will be a sophomore at Medford High School and runs cross country and track for the Medford High Team. Valerie Joseph is 15 and will be a sophomore at Medford High School and Valerie runs Cross Country and Medford High Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. Jen Fagundes is 16 and will be a junior at Medford High School in the fall and enjoys doing community service. Team TADD is consistently working to recruit new members. We anticipate to have more in the coming school year. Also Team TADD consists of member who have moved to surrounding cities, but have maintained to stay active with the activities conducted by Team TADD. Many of the members reside in the local housing development.
