Another Angelic Voice of youth

Accompanied by her dad, Children at the Well participant Adah sings a Debbie Friedman song, The Angels' Blessing, at the Winter Lights Telling.

Nimi sings "Tarakka Bindige"

Nimi has been a Children at the Well participant for two years.

Winter Lights, the annual program of the Interfaith Story Circle

This year, there were adult storytellers, two Children at the Well storytellers, two girls and an entire 5th grade class from AnNur Islamic school singing a variety of songs.
As Marni Gillard wrote "Wasn’t it an amazing day? The kids really MADE it. The adults were a nice addition."

Listening

Learning to listen...and give appreciations. Lesson one.

Sunday, January 13th. 2008 is off to a good start for CATW!

We have gathered a group of sixteen kids this year. Eight of them are brand new to us...and one is from a group new to us- the Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church.

Storycoaches extraordinaire!

Our first meeting of the 2008 group

Meeting new people, lots of stories, and pizza at Marni's house- it was a fun way to kick off this year's program.

"As I watched the students, I felt like I was getting a glimpse into each one of them"

"Their personalities showed through in the telling. I suspect this occurred because...they were allowed to choose their own stories and encouraged to really search...for stories they loved...I think it ...greatly honored them as people and as members of their religious traditions to be entrusted with this task."

"I was surprised at how the other kids were as eager as I to learn about different faiths."

"Also through our stories we realized the similarities that we all share."

"Thank you so much for patience, lessons, and wisdom."

"I enjoyed being part of the Children at the Well program because it motivated me to become a better person. I learned lessons from religions other than my own...I enjoyed learning from my fellow peers..."
