The discussion flowed organically from practical questions about why certain police policies are they way they are TO what's the greatest need for change TO personal stories of interactions with the police in our neighborhoods.

Picasso's Spirit Dove

Picasso's Spirit Dove was the symbol that called together 100 South Bronx citizens for our public forum on violence on January 17, 2006. The forum took place months after the Sean Bell shooting and concluded with 10 people who walked forward and committed to work on the issue of violence in our neighborhoods for the next year. Now it's a little over a year later and we're about to launch our Pilot Conversation with the Police. We aim to launch community-wide conversations in the Fall of '08!
