WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR THIS PROGRAM

While the Make It Your Own Awards grants were awarded in May 2008, the projects live on. Read more about the Top 100 projects, or see what made the MIYO Awards novel. This site has been archived to serve as a resource for anyone wishing to create a similar project in their community.

My Project Diary

And away we go!

I just submitted our proposal for the Make It Your Own award. It was an exhausting, but rewarding collaborative process, involving many late nights of work with some of the core team partners: David Smith (Mobilize.org), Luke Repici (Association of Young Americans) and Luke Shepard (Facebook).

I am proud of the work we did on the application. I think it represents a wonderful vision for the future. We are all very excited to roll up our sleeves and continue the work!

From humble beginnings. . .

I've been focusing my time since reaching the top 100 stage on talking talking talking! I've been talking to various members of the Youth Policy Action Center community, listening, learning, getting ideas for how we can shape this project together!

On tap for this weekend: talking with David Smith from Mobilize.org and Luke from the Association of Youth Americans (who is also in the top 100 -- how great would it be if a couple of the top 100 could figure out a way to jointly do their projects!
