Again, what a great location to have an event! Those are Banyan trees, and there could have been no better place for an outdoor reception.
|
|
After the instant voting, most people retired to the outdoor reception. Our secret to keeping them there on a Friday afternoon after an all-day event? In addition to the relationships forged and great ideas to discuss, each nametag was worth one drink.

If you look closely over the presenter's shoulder, you can see the screen with the instant voting results.

Here is a shot of one of our presenters discussing her project.
Each presenter got 2 minutes to describe the group's idea, and then the audience got to vote based on strength of support. There were 16 groups, so this took about 45 minutes.

This photo shows the elected representative from one group practicing the presentation of their Top Idea.
There was time in the schedule to practice the presentation to get pointers from your own group. The presentation would be made for the whole group to vote on at the end of the day using instant voting technology.

This is a picture of a group whittling down the ideas from the morning session into their Top Idea.
In the afternoon, the groups took the Top 4 ideas from another group's morning session, and chose one to flesh out and present to all participants.

This beautiful logo cake was a surprise from our caterer, Local Coffee+Tea.
This is the only known photo of it before it was devoured by ravenous brainstorming citizens.

We couldn't have asked for a better location. Thanks to Marie G. Selby Botanical Gardens for opening up their space and wonderful bayfront view to us for the Summit. It is a beautiful thing to live and work among palm trees.

This was taken in the few seconds of relative calm that occurred just before lunchtime.

Here is a close up of the ideas that Group 16 came up with during the morning session.
At the end of the morning session, each group voted to decide 4 favorite ideas from their brainstorming that another group would develop in the afternoon session.
